Good news / Bad news: The WoW 1.6.1 patch this past week made it a lot easier to track down the bugs a few users had been seeing. Of course, this also meant Reagent Cost has been buggier for everybody. Sorry about the delay, but I’m pretty sure it won’t blow up in your face anymore… at least, not nearly as often.
- Much stricter error handling; should no longer hang/freeze/crash WoW when opening tradeskill windows or requesting reports. Should also provide more helpful error messages when a report can’t be produced.
- May take an extra second or two to gather data when opening a tradeskill window for the first time. (One of the crash/hang issues involved scanning data too fast.) You probably won’t notice this if you’re using the tradeskill window normally, but if you request a report and it says you need to open a window that’s already open, just wait a couple of seconds before requesting it again.
- Added an extra command,
/rc reagents [<skillname>]
, which outputs a list of all the items you can make (or all the items for skillname) and the reagents needed for each. (Added as a debugging utility, but may become more useful in a future release.)

- Compatible with French WoW. (Not yet localized.)
- Partial German localization. (Uncomment some stuff in localization.lua for a fuller translation, but then you’ll have text that overflows buttons. Got a better idea? I’m listening.)

- Buttons should now appear in the correct (usable) places if you’re using EnhancedTradeSkill or other addons that modify the geometry of TradeSkillFrame.
- Beginnings of locale compatibility; should now work with the German WoW client (not yet actually translated, though). Savvy users of other languages feel free to look at localization.lua; please contact me with your translations and I’ll include them in the next release.

- Calculated (well, more “estimated”, really) materials cost now uses Fizzwidget ReagentCost, which you should be able to find at the same site where you found this. (ReagentCost still depends on Auctioneer and ReagentData, but this mod no longer depends on those directly.) This dependency and features related to it are still optional.
- The advertising features are now usable without ReagentCost installed — if it’s not there to provide baseline pricing, we’ll fall back on your history of enchant-for-cash trades. (And for enchants you’ve never sold, we’ll report them with no price.) Beware: if most of your enchants don’t have prices, the
minprice
filter won’t work as well, making your advertisement much longer. (A future release should improve on this.)
- The
/enchantseller whisper <name>
command now works correctly.
- Fixed a bug calculating median prices for an odd-sized set.
