Thought I’d give this a try since it seems Enchantrix is on it’s way out.

But the probable disenchant information in the tooltips shows as “unknown”. Ok, I thought then this gadget will learn overtime. So I disenchant the same item twice. Still the information shows as “unknown”.

    Am I missing something?

  2. Gazmik Fizzwidget Says:

Uh, that’s a bug. It’d help me find and fix it if you could tell me which item(s) are showing “unknown” as the predicted disenchant. (You might see that on Cataclysm Beta if you’re using it there, as I don’t have disenchant info for Cataclysm items yet.)

Hi my disenchant predictor doesn’t seem to be working at all since the patch, in spite of downloading the new version 4.0 a couple of times… Basically it looks like I haven’t got it as an addon – nothing shows up.

This FAQ is pretty useful if you’re having trouble installing addons.

I’ve been looking for a mod like this for a long time. It seems like the only two options are your mod, and Enchantrix. I hate the way Enchantrix looks and behaves, but your mod /still/ doesn’t give correct results. Are you unaware of the commonly accepted disenchanting tables, or do you disagree with them? Namely, disenchanting is based on iLevel, an internal (but displayable, even using the default interface) value, not required level to equip. Also, weapons have a higher chance to give essence, while armor has a higher chance to give dust.

All this information is available on Blizzard’s own website (http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/professions/enchanting.html), as well as other websites about the game, such as Wowpedia (http://www.wowpedia.org/Disenchanting_tables).

Your Disenchant Predictor, like your website, is visually attractive, but if it doesn’t fulfill its primary purpose of providing information correctly, then it’s not worth using.

Disenchant Predictor’s tables are based on those you’ve linked to; if there are any discrepancies, it’s a bug, which would be much easier to find if you could provide specific details as to which cases are giving you incorrect results.

Questing in Northrend, every weapon quest reward I’ve looked at says that Infinite Dust is more likely than Cosmic Essence. I think that’s been true of every weapon I’ve seen while using Disenchant Predictor, but I haven’t been taking careful notes. I can start collecting specific examples though.

  8. Catcubus Says:

Off topic question, but what is the name of the addon you’re using that replaces the gryphons on the bars with murlocs?

  9. Gazmik Fizzwidget Says:

SquidMod — search for it at your favorite addon directory.

  10. Jono Says:

Hi, all Cataclysm items are predicting Wrath mats at the moment. I’ve mainly been doing quest rewards in Vashj’ir

  11. Xeltavian Says:

Hypnotic Dust (and presumably any other Cataclysm enchanting material) is generating an error on tooltip. Cataclysm sub-80 greens are also panicking about getting unexpected materials when disenchanting.

  12. Kozrek Says:

    Error after disenchant cataclysm items:

The Tooltip shows the older materials instead of the cata materials.

  13. Isharra Says:

I’m getting an error when using swatter if I accidently mouse over cataclysm materials. For example [Hypnotic Dust] ItemID: 52555. This happens with only Disenchant Predictor and Swatter enabled so it’s not an addon interaction.
